INFORMATION WORKSHOP
20/2/10 - 11.00am

This Month’s Focus - CATTLE

Fly Control Cooper Easy Dose   Nutrition Ridley Show & Grow

Sarah Meszaros, a youth member of the Australian Lowline Cattle association and the manager of Meszline Stud has organised a fundraiser for the Autism Advisory and Support Services. An Australian Lowline steer, which has been donated by Larry & David Shaw, owners of Ashdanvid Lowline Stud, is to be auctioned off in order to raise money and support this event.

The steer is being fed and raised at Sarah’s Stud in Agnes Banks where she spends every afternoon feeding and halter breaking in the steer in order to be auctioned off at Hawkesbury Show on the 24th of April 2010. All of the money raised by the steer will be going to the Autism Advisory and Support Services, which is a support group that assists children with Autism to go out and socialise with other children in their age groups. Sarah also assists the youth social groups.

The steer will be attending a number of shows in 2010 and it would be great if you follow and support the steer at your local shows.

The steer will be visiting FARM SERVICES on 20/2/10 where he will be clipped and weighed.

Your support would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made at Farm Services or the “Cheer a steer” hotline: http://www.aass.org.au

BBQ FUNDRAISER!

Autism Advisory and Support Service will be holding a BBQ on the 20/2/10 to raise funds and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

10am-1pm

The Autism Advisory and Support Service (AASS) was formed in 2007 by parents of children with Autism. They are volunteers and originally intended to assist children with Autism and their families in south west Sydney. The service has been so successful that they now have frequent requests to assist families from all around Australia and even in other parts of the world.

The services AASS provides include support groups, telephone guidance and advice, seminars and workshops, unbiased information, a social group for young adults with NT peers/mentors, a

24 hour Australia wide hotline, an Autism library, a toy library, individual advocacy as well as government lobbying.

The majority of funding comes from donations and fundraisers so they can continue to assist families affected by Autism at no charge. This is where our Steer plays a star role.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could follow this story. It would not only help us raise much needed money for our Australia wide 24 hour hotline manned by parent volunteers, but also to raise awareness for Autism which is a current worldwide epidemic. More than 1 in 100 children in Australia are currently affected by Autism, there is an 87% divorce rate for parents of children with Autism and this disorder has the highest rate of depression for families affected than any other disability.

Please contact Grace Fava, President Autism Advisory and Support Service for further information or to make a donation.
